Points question

Just wat to see if I read the rule book right. Do you figure the points by using the best points finishes of the year from all races or just 7 of 9 (or this year 6 of 8)? If I competed in all the races this year I will get the bonus of 200 points. But can I drop a race where I did not run so well. Do you add all the races together or just the best 6 out of 8 or 7 out of 8?

It would be 6 out of 8 races.

You get the 200 bonus points for your 8 out of 8 races.

You can drop the race that you wish.

The best 6 out of 8.

Mike.... How is the fact that Atlanta was cancelled going to effect the total points (would it still be the best 6 races or would it be 5 of 7 now) and the bonus points since there are only 7 races...

Specifically, points will be accumulated using the best points totals accumulated from 5 of 7 events. Racers that compete in 5 of 7 events will receive 100 bonus points. Racers that compete in all seven events will receive an additional 100 point bonus.

thank you for the clarification on that mike... just one more question... if a racer went thru tech for a race but did not qualify, can he drop the points for that race and will that race count for the bonus?

Per mike's reply above, 100 bonus for 5 of 7 and 200 for 7 of 7. Year end points will be based on the best 5 races you attended.

Yes if you pass tech you will be counted as there for the race, if you did not qualify and did not make it on the ladder you will show a zero for the points for that race, but PRO should have the Tech cards to show you were at the race. I know in X/S 2 Drivers made it to a race and teched in, one broke everything in a Friday Test run, the other actually made a qualifing pass but did not go across the scales as he hurt the motor on the pass. I am sure these Drivers will be counted as making the race for bonus points, but recieved a zero which will be a throw away race for them.
