Each racer is responsible for verifying his dial-in as well as the opponent before staging.
If there is a problem, notify the starter immediately.
If a racer stages, they have accepted their dial-in, and/or personal index, and that of their competitor. The race can stand as ran.
Without the posting of indexes on display in first round, IF the index is incorrect and the racer does not question it, according to NMCA rules that racer could be stuck with that INCORRECT index entire race including eliminations.
