Quote from Eaton EFI class rules

Late Model EFI is based on an index which you must choose during the tech-in process or prior to the first scheduled qualifying run.

Once a qualifying run has been made, changing your index is prohibited. The closer you qualify to your index------

NMCA GENERAL REGULATIONS 2008

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Bracket Dial-Ins & Personal Indexes KET DIAL-INS & PERSONAL INDEXES

Each racer is responsible for verifying his dial-in as well as the opponent before staging.

If there is a problem, notify the starter immediately.

If a racer stages, they have accepted their dial-in, and/or personal index, and that of their competitor. The race can stand as ran.

Without the posting of indexes on display in first round, IF the index is incorrect and the racer does not question it, according to NMCA rules that racer could be stuck with that INCORRECT index entire race including eliminations.

what seems to be the issue you are bringing up?

First round of EFI qualifying last night saw NO indexes posted at starting line or at finish line.

When I asked the starter to post my index to insure proper index , he would not. Had the index been incorrect, the NMCA was under no obligation to correct it or change it and thus I and everyone would be stuck with an index not of thier choosing if it happened to be wrong.

Nothing abnormal about rules but every racer deserves to know that the index or dial is correct BEFORE taking first staging light.

I would hate to see Mike Stephens or Andrew have lost WC when he staged with a 14.00 index or whatever with out knowing it.

The Memphis Starter goofed and refused to correct it.
