I have a newbie question about contingency stickers. I always thought that you actually had to have the parts on your car to display the company's decal. I also thought that you would have to show reciepts proving the parts were on your car. Am I wrong? I guess having to show reciepts would be really tedious.
Lets hope the weather holds out!
Thanks

Yes, you are correct. You have to run the company's part that is specified in the contingency list.
Which can be found here. http://www.nmcadigital.com/contingency/2008_nmca.pdf

FYI Summit Racing is a free bie !! just have a catalog with you. :D

Also the company must offer contingency for that particular part for your class.

Right again. But here is how it works.
As long as the NMCA official can visually see the part on your car then your good to go and do not need to prove it with a receipt. However, if the official cannot visually see the part upon inspection then you have to prove your part using a receipt, cam card, serial number, and so on. But rather than showing your receipt to the NMCA official at the race you have to prove it to the company. In other words the NMCA Tech will check it off on their sheet that the part wasn't visible ( I can't remember what the official wording is on the sheet).
Then if you win or runner up the NMCA will send in their contingency info to the company's for all winner/runner-up cars for that race. Then the company will send you a letter in the mail with instructions on how to prove that you have the part on the car. Send the correct info in and then you'll get a check. Also from my experiences if you are a repeat winner you don't have to worry about proving the part again, cause the company will keep records and then just will send you the check.

So all you have to do is find a safe place to keep receipts of paper work for parts you purchase for your car. At the track make sure you have all the correct stickers on the car. You can get the contingency stickers for free at the NMCA registration trailer. Before you go up to tech make sure you have the parts checked off on the contingency list, give the sheet to the tech official, and then get to the finals !!

Hope this helps.
If you are going to the Milan race, come find me if you have anymore questions or want some help with this issue.

Thanks a lot for posting the answers to the questions.
I think I am dreaming about actually getting to a position where I would need to worry about contingency, but I guess you never know.
Thanks again,
Depending on the weather, I may bring my car down.
Hopefully see yoy there.
Dave
