IN ASSOCIATION WITH Every year the NMCA and shopHEMI.com come together to produce the largest modern HEMI event of the year…the Late-Model HEMI Shootout. This year the Late-Model HEMI Shootout will move to Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicswille, Maryland the weekend of June 3-5, 2011. The Late-Model HEMI Shootout is a special “event within an event” that runs in conjunction with the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals – so you get two major events for the price of one! The Shootout attracts the fastest supercharged, turbocharged, nitrous-powered and naturally aspirated modern Challengers, Chargers, 300s, Magnums, and SUVs in the U.S. to compete on the national stage. Diablosport HEMI Rumble Class

HEMI Rumble Class
(Open to All Late-Model 5.7 & 6/1 HEMI-Powered Chrysler Vehicles)

The HEMI Rumble class is the largest at the Shootout and it is open to all 5.7 and 6.1 liter HEMI-powered Chrysler vehicles. With easy to follow index-style rules, HEMI Rumble is the most popular class. All HEMI Rumble class competitors will recieve a free entry into Saturday’s TREMEC True Street class, presented by Mopar Muscle magazine (must fit True Street class rules). The HEMI Rumble class will qualify for Modern Street HEMI Shootout Series points in 2011.

TREMEC True Street Presented by Mopar Muscle Magazine

The Late-Model HEMI True Street class, sponsored by TREMEC and presented by Mopar Muscle, is designed for “true” street modern HEMI cars that are licensed, insured and capable of making a 30-mile police-escorted cruise! The class will be contested Saturday of the event (June 4th) and each racer will run 3 back-to-back passes for an overall average E.T. Awards will be given away to the overall fastest HEMI, runner-up, and the clsoest averages to 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 seconds. All HEMI True Street class competitors will recieve a free entry into Sunday’s HEMI Rumble class.

The 5.7 N/A Heads Up Class runs as part of the Modern Street HEMI Shootout Series, which has invited the Late-Model HEMI Shootout to be a points event in 2011.

World’s Fastest HEMI Challenge

Nitto Tire will give away special awards to the world’s fastest late-model HEMI-powered competitors – Challenger, Charger, Magnum, 300, and Truck/SUV. There will also be an awesome match race between the two overall fastest HEMIs at the end of the event. 

Overall World’s Fastest Late-Model HEMI (match race at the end of the event  between the 2 fastest late-model HEMI’s on the property):

Win: $500 + Plaque
Runner-Up: $250 + Plaque

Challenger: $250 + Plaque
Charger: $250 + Plaque

	High Horse Performance Late-Model HEMI Car Show Classes

The Late-Model HEMI Shootout features exciting car show classes for enthusiasts who want to show off their awesome LX and LY Chrysler and Dodge vehicles. There will be special awards given away both days (Saturday and Sunday).

Saturday Awards:

People’s Choice Awards:
Winner awards will be given away for each of the following categories:

- Best Engine 
- Best Interior
- Best Body & Paint
- Best Detail
- Best of Show

Special Recognition Awards:
The NMCA will give away 20 special recognition awards to select vehicle owners.

Sunday Awards:

Two awards, winner & outstanding achievement, will be given away at the Late-Model HEMI Shootout car show.  Winners will receive a plaque and a $100 shopHEMI.com gift certificate.  The following classes will be judged:

- Challenger
- Charger
- 300
- Magnum
- Truck/SUV
- V6 Chrysler
- Open Chrysler (For Chrysler vehicles that do not fit into above classes)
- Best Late-Model HEMI of Show (winner only – award, jacket & $250 gift certificate)

Mark Burkhardt Ambassador Award

A custom Late-Model HEMI Shootout jacket and $1,000 shopHEMI.com gift certificate will be awarded to one Late-Model HEMI Shootout participant in honor of Mark Burkhardt, a shopHEMI.com employee and good friend of the NMCA who passed away in 2009.  The winner will be the person who shopHEMI.com and the NMCA recognize as contributing the most to the growth and success of the Late-Model HEMI movement in 2011.

NMCA Late-Model HEMI Shootout Participant Party Sponsored by shopHEMI.com

The NMCA and shopHEMI.com are pleased to announce that there will once again be a special Participant Party and huge parts (over $10,000 in prizes) raffle open to all Late-Model HEMI Shootout participants and friends. The party, which will take place at the La Quinta Waldorf (one of NMCA’s official host hotels for event) on Friday, June 3rd, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, will provide a fun opportunity for racers, show competitors, magazine editors, sponsors and guests to get to know each other in a fun, friendly environment.
