The NMCA is pleased to announce that Kooks Custom Headers will once again sponsor our Pro Street class. Pro Street is the quickest and fastest class in the NMCA, with entries running as quick as high 5 second/low 6-seconds at over 230 mph. These are all-out racecars with carbon fiber bodies hung on 25.2-spec tube chassis, powered by engines that are rumored to make close to 3,000 horsepower. This is a top-level power adder class where you are allowed to run a roots-style supercharger, centrifugal supercharger, twin or single turbo, or multiple stages of nitrous oxide. High-octane race gas is used in most cars, but the supercharged contingent is allowed to use methanol.
- Pro Street racers are required to run some form of muffler, possibly the last “street” aspect of the class rules left from the class’ origin in the late 1980s
- Pro Street entries are permitted small-block and big-block engines, up to and including a maximum of 840 ci for some naturally aspirated, “mountain motor” combinations.
